K.K
Kunta Kente.
Do you recall Alex Haleys pivotal movie called
Roots
The movie changed America, especially Black American perception of Africa and Slavery for ever..
Kunta Kente was the Main Character, A Man sold in Slavery who had to.be Free..
And fought with a ferocity
And was a perfect example of West African Pride.
In London in 1990 I earned the Nick name
Kunte Kente…
Because of my Pride and Confidence that I was Free and look up to no man King of Quien
I actually dropped a whole tray on.a very important Britsh Aristocrat which was not on purpose but which I apologized of course but with such pride and so little fuss..
That they started calling me that ..
Because I felt Equal to King or pauper.
Because All are Free.
But be the best of what you are or do not call me your equal..
I think though the called me that because they felt that I was Free and no one could bind me or make me bow my head.
11:22 p.m
I had to be Free.
Freedom Song
And so I felt should all.
